The Congress received a major boost as several families supporting different political parties joined the party under the leadership of Jasmer Singh, a resident of Kumbhra village falling under the Mohali Municipal Corporation.

Apart from Jasmer Singh’s family, families of Gurnam Singh, Pal Singh, Harjinder Singh, Baljinder Singh, Jaspal Singh, Mandeep Singh, Balwinder Singh, Kulwinder Singh, Gurmukh Singh, Surinder Singh, Jasbir Singh, Sandeep Singh and Kamaldeep Singh joined the party.

Welcoming the families into the party fold, Mayor Amarjit Singh Jeeti Sidhu said the Congress was the only party in Punjab that always focused on the overall development of the state and never allowed any discrimination in development.

He said it was the Congress that had been providing relief to all sections of society and was always committed for the development of villages in particular.
