Major Sood’s father, Brig CK Sood (retd), is a resident of Amravati Enclave in Panchkula, where he moved a few months ago.

Floral tributes were paid to the martyr’s body at the Chandigarh Air Force Station. Wreaths were laid on behalf of the Air Officer Commanding, 12 Wing, and other dignitaries.

Born in December 1989, Major Sood is an alumnus of Punjab Public School, Nabha, where his father had also studied, before joining the National Defence Academy, Khadakwasla, in 2008. He belonged to 19 Guards and was presently serving with 31 Rashtriya Rifles in the Kupwara region of Kashmir.
