Chandigarh: A Dhanas resident has been arrested for allegedly snatching a mobile phone from a woman. According to the police, a woman reported that a person had snatched her mobile phone near an ATM at Dhanas. The police were informed about the incident and a case was registered at the Sarangpur police station. Later, the suspect, Abhishek, a resident of Dhanas village, was arrested. TNS

Man outrages modesty, held

Chandigarh: A Sector 56 resident has been arrested for allegedly outraging the modesty of a woman. According to the police, the victim alleged that Zafir Ahmed of Sector 56 caught hold of her and outraged her modesty near her house. The police were informed following which the suspect was arrested and a case under Sections 354 and 323 of the IPC registered against him at the Sector 39 police station. TNS

Prostitution racket busted

Panchkula: Three persons were arrested after the police busted a prostitution racket at a hotel in Morni here. The suspects have been identified as Balraj, a resident of Hansi, Dharambir Singh, a resident of Behlana, Chandigarh and Nar Bahadur of Nepal. The police said acting on a tip off, they raided the hotel. A case was registered at the Chandimandir police station. TNS
