A local court has granted bail to Sunny, a native of Punjab, who was arrested in a case registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. The police had arrested the accused on May 5 with 1 kg of “ganja’.

The counsel for the accused argued that the accused was falsely implicated in the case.

He said no senior police official was called to seize the contraband and no notice under Section 50 of the NDPS was handed to the accused.

However, the public prosecutor opposed the bail application. After hearing of the arguments, the court allowed the bail application.
