Man booked for raping nurse after spiking her drink
A man has been booked for allegedly raping a woman from Madanpur village in Sector 26 after making her consume a drug-laced soft drink.
In her complaint to the women police station, the woman stated that she was a staff nurse at a private hospital in Panchkula, and had met the suspect, Ravi Tiwari, in September 2023 while he was undergoing treatment for pancreatitis at her hospital. In February next year, Ravi allegedly offered her lift after work, but instead drove her to a deserted location near Kundi village, Sector 20. He reportedly offered her a cold drink laced with an intoxicant. After consuming it, the woman lost consciousness. Upon regaining senses, she discovered she had been sexually assaulted. When she confronted him, Ravi allegedly begged her not to report it, claiming he had developed feelings for her.
On April 16 this year, he allegedly threatened to leak her photos and videos unless she agreed to meet him within seven days.
A case has been registered against the suspect under Sections 64(1), 351(2), and 123 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
The suspect is at large.
