A local court convicted a Sector 4 resident for the murder of a labourer employed in Sector 117, TDI City, in a two-year old case.

The complainant Vijay, brother of deceased, Rajveer, a native of Rampur, Uttar Pradesh, had told the police that his brother and the accused, identified as Ajay, were employed as labourers at an under-construction house.

The two men were staying on site and were involved in a drunken brawl on the day of the incident. After hearing of the incident, the complainant had reach the sport found his brother lying in a pool of blood.

The victim was rushed to a Manimajra hospital, where he was declared dead on arrival. His body was later shifted to the mortuary at the Kharar sub-divisional hospital.

The court of district sessions judge Atul Kasana convicted the accused of murder. The quantum of the sentence would be pronounced on Thursday.
