A 48-year-old man, who was waiting for someone on his scooty, was crushed to death after a rashly driven truck hit his two-wheeler near the Landran bus stop today. The deceased has been identified as Lakhmir Singh, a resident of Landran. The incident occurred at 4 pm when the deceased was waiting for somebody on his scooty. A truck came and hit his vehicle. He was rushed to the Civil Hospital in Phase 6, where he was declared brought dead.

Sanjay Kumar, investigating officer, said the truck driver had been identified as Thaska Meera of Kurukshetra, who sped away. —
