When they reached near Khanpur village, the driver of a truck (PB11BY2601) moving in front of them applied brakes suddenly. As a result, the bike rammed into the rear of the truck. Both of them fell on the road and were badly injured.

Geeta said local people took them to Civil Hospital, Fatehgarh Sahib, where her husband died during treatment. The police have registered a case against the unidentified truck driver and handed over Sukhwinder's body to the family after post mortem.
