Man found hanging near police station in Panchkula Sector 17

An unidentified man was found hanging from a tree near the entrance of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) Police Station in Sector 17, Panchkula, early Sunday morning.

The body was first noticed by commuters, who alerted the police. A team from the Sector 16 police outpost arrived at the location, cordoned off the area and began an investigation.

Officials said the possibility of suicide is being considered, but no conclusions have been drawn yet. No identification documents were found on the deceased, and efforts are underway to establish his identity.

“We are reviewing CCTV footage from the area and checking recent missing person records to aid in the identification,” said a senior police officer.

The body has been sent for post-mortem examination.

The case has drawn public attention due to the location of the incident, directly outside a police facility.

Further action will be taken as the leads emerge during the investigation.
