Zirakpur, January 19

An unidentified person was found murdered on the railway track under the Zirakpur-Panchkula railway bridge in the wee hours of today. The victim had injury marks on the neck.

The GRP suspect that the deceased was killed somewhere else and his body dumped on the railway track near Zirakpur.

According to GRP sources, they got information around 3.20 am that a body was lying near the railway track. A team was sent to the spot, which took the body into its custody. The police tried to find for clues, but till the filing of this report, they had failed to establish the identity of the deceased or the murderers.

GRP officials said the police were scrutinising the footage of CCTV cameras in nearby areas to get clues. The police also approached people of nearby areas to get information about missing persons. A case has been registered. — TNS
