A local court sentenced a city resident to undergo 10 years of rigorous imprisonment (RI) in a case registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act registered five years ago.

The court also imposed a fine on the convict, Bhupinder Kumar, alias Batti.

As per the prosecution, the police had arrested the accused in September 2018 with 30 injections of buprenorphine and 30 of pheniramine maleate. The accused could not produce any permit or licence for the same.
