Man held for stealing Rs 6 lakh, valuables at doctor’s Sector 19 house

Chandigarh Police said they arrested a man they claimed stole Rs 6 lakh in cash and gold jewellery from a doctor’s house in Sector 19.

The suspect, Rinku Khan, was arrested at Bihar’s Aurangabad.

Police said they found Rs 4 in cash from Khan, who was a security guard at the civil hospital in Mani Majra, and stayed at the victim Dr Rajesh Rana’s house.

The theft was allegedly committed on September 25 and came to light the next day.

Police said Khan gave a sedative-laced sandwich to the doctor and stole their valuables. The suspect is currently in police custody and police hope they can track down the rest of the stolen cash and valuables.
