A 29-year-old man has been arrested by the UT police for a daylight theft at a house in Faidan village. The accused, identified as Sonu (29), is a resident of Kajheri village.

Depender had reported that his house was burgled on May 31 while he had gone for work. When his family returned home in the evening, they found the house ransacked.

A laptop, an LED set, electronic items and cash were stolen from the house. A case was registered at the Sector 31 police station.

Sonu was arrested and the stolen items were recovered from him. Besides, 14 mobile phones, three LPG cylinders and a bicycle stolen from parts of Chandigarh and Mohali were also recovered from him.

The police said the accused was earlier booked in a case of theft in 2023.
