The detective staff of the district police arrested a 22-year-old man for smuggling heroin. Acting on a tip-off, the police seized 9.30 grams drug powder from Jatin near Kheda Mandir, Bhurji Colony, Surajpur.

ASI Sandeep led the team that arrested the suspect, who is a resident of Surajpur. He reportedly brought heroin from Chandigarh and peddled it in Surajpur, Chandimandir and Pinjore.

A case under Section 21 of the NDPS Act was registered at the Pinjore police station. The police produced Jatin before the court which remanded him in a two-day police custody for further investigation.
