Chandigarh: A 23-year-old man has been arrested with a stolen scooter. Honey, alias Hariom, a resident of Sector 29, is already facing six theft cases in UT. On a specific information, he was nabbed from a checkpoint set up in Sector 29. The suspect had affixed a fake number plate on the scooter, which was found to have been stolen from Panchkula. “The number belonged to a motorcycle owned by a man residing in suspect’s neighbourhood,” said a police official. A case has been registered at the Industrial Area police station. TNS

Z’pur resident held with knife

Chandigarh: UT police have arrested 22-year-old Suraj for possessing a knife. The suspect, a Zirakpur resident, was arrested from Mauli Jagran. The police have registered a case and initiated an investigation. TNS

Three booked for assault

Chandigarh: Three persons have been booked for assaulting a man. Complainant Rinku, a resident of Dadu Majra Colony, alleged Ramakant, Ajay and Sunil, all residing in his neighbourhood, got into a quarrel with him and assaulted him near his house. The complainant suffered injuries and was admitted to the GMSH, Sector 16. A case has been registered at the Maloya police station and an investigation initiated.
