The deceased has been identified as Mahinder Singh, a resident of Manakpur, Banur. Mahinder’s son Gurmukh Singh told the police that his father had gone to buy medicine when a speeding car hit him. The victim fell on the road and suffered head injuries. The car driver fled the spot after the accident. Mahinder was rushed to the PGI where he succumbed to his injuries. The police have registered a case against the unidentified driver and initiated action. TNS
