A cyclist was reportedly crushed to death by an overloaded truck at the main chowk of Mandi Gobindgarh town today.

The cyclist died on the spot. He was identified as Amarjit Singh (75), a resident of nearby Kumbh village. He was the father of Assistant Traffic In-charge Gurmeet Singh.

Sources said, the victim was going on a cycle to his village from Mandi Gobindgarh town. When he reached the chowk on GT Road, an overloaded truck coming from the Sirhind side hit his cycle and crushed him to death. The police reached the spot and confiscated the truck and arrested the driver. — OC
