The police said Constable Viredner, posted at the Sector 31 police station, who was on patrolling duty, reported that Shahdat Khan (44) and Bablu (30), both residents of Burail village, Sector 45, were riding a scooter that rammed into the wrongly parked bus. Sources said the victims probably could not see the bus as its indicators were not turned on.

Both injured were rushed to the Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Sector 32, where doctors declared Shahdat brought dead, while Bablu was referred to the PGI.

A case against the bus driver under Sections 304-A (causing death by negligence) and 337 (causing hurt by an act endangering the life or personal safety of others) of the IPC has been registered. Sources said the victims worked as cosmetic vendors. — TNS
