Chandigarh: Two motorcycle-borne miscreants have robbed a man on the road separating Sectors 43 and 44. Ram Naresh, a resident of Sector 52, reported that the miscreants robbed him of Rs 2,000, documents, one gold ring and one silver chain. The police have registered a case at the Sector 34 police station and started investigation. TNS

Mohali: DAV College Cricket Academy, Chandigarh, won the 2nd RP Singh Memorial Cricket Tournament by logging a 71-run win over Sunrise Cricket Academy, Zirakpur. DAV College Academy scored 169 in 38.4 overs. Akul Bhanot (38) led the score chart. Anubhav Kaushik took 4 wickets. In reply, the Zirakpur team bundled out at 98. City’s Jatiwal shines in golf

Chandigarh: Chandigarh’s Rajiv Kumar Jatiwal (68-67) and Delhi’s Rohit Baisoya (67-68) finished tied-2nd at totals of 7-under 135, at Pre-Qualifying II of the TATA Steel PGTI Qualifying School 2024 at the Golmuri Golf Course, Jamshedpur. American golfer Thomas McLendon carded a 6-under 65 in the second round to end up with a total of 9-under 133 that helped him emerge victorious by two shots. From a total field of 103 in pre-qualifying II, the top 19 players qualified for the final qualifying stage as the cut was declared at 1-under 141. TNS

Lakshay defeat Straight Drive

Chandigarh: In the ongoing Saupin’s-32 (U-14) Cricket Championship, Lakshay School of Cricket defeated Straight Drive Cricket Academy by 21 runs. Lakshay Academy lads posted 173/7. Kartik Rana (72) and Yuvraj (28) were main scorers. In reply, Straight Drive Academy scored 152 before getting bundled out. Himanshu Sharma (50) and Khush Sharma (27) contributed most runs. tns

SCA beat Sec 36 team by 6 runs

Chandigarh: SCA Mohali defeated Guru Nanak Public School, Sector 36, by six runs during the ongoing GNPS Cricket Cup. Batting first, the Mohali team scored 129/5 in 18 overs with the help of Adhiraaj Kurl (62) and Subham Verma (23). Aaravdeep Prabhakar claimed two wickets. In reply, the host team posted 123/8 with the help of Soham Sachdeva (49) and Unnat Dahuja (40). Shivam claimed three wickets, while Anshuman Singh took two for the bowling side.
