The police arrested a man for allegedly murdering his wife and passing it off as a blind murder on September 27 near Kurali. The accused has been identified as Sher Singh, 25,. He had on September 27 informed the police that the body of his wife, Gomati, 22, was found hanging from a tree with her hands ties.
However, upon investigation, it was found that Sher Singh himself had murdered his wife over strained relations. He had faked a robbery, reporting his wife’s ornaments stolen. On questioning, the accused admitted to thrashing and strangling his wife. The ornaments and a wooden log used in the crime were recovered.
