The suspect has been identified as Shivam. He will be produced in a court tomorrow. According to complainant Jashandeep Singh of Jandpur village, he was returning home with his aged mother from Patiala when his car tyre punctured on the Kharar-Landran road around 1.30 pm. A motorcylist stopped and offered him help in replacing the tyre.

Later, the suspect got behind the steering wheel and asked the owner to push the car. Taking advantage, he fled the spot with the car, leaving his bike behind. Balongi SHO Rajpal Singh said the bike was registered in the name of the suspect’s mother. A case has been registered. — TNS
