The Union Territory Cricket Association (UTCA), Chandigarh, announced the local Ranji squad. The Chandigarh team will start their Ranji Trophy campaign against Railways on October 11, at Government Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 26.

The team will play its second match against host Assam at Guwahati from October 18, followed by their tie against Jharkhand in Jamshedpur from October 26.The city lads will lock their horns against Delhi from November 6, while their last league match is scheduled against Saurashtra from November 13.

The squad comprises Aayush Sikka, Ankit Kaushik, Arjit Singh, Gaurav Puri, Gurinder Singh, Jagjit Singh Sandhu, Manan Vohra (captain), Mayank Sidhu, Mohd Arslan Khan, Nishunk Birla, Rajangad Bawa, Rohit Dhanda, Shivam Bhambri, Vishu Kashyap, Sandeep Sharma.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.

Restraint and moderation, rather than agitational language and partisanship, are the hallmarks of the newspaper. It is an independent newspaper in the real sense of the term.

The Tribune has two sister publications, Punjabi Tribune (in Punjabi) and Dainik Tribune (in Hindi).
