Manavjeet was crowned Mr Rose, and Shrutika was crowned Miss Rose, during the ongoing 13th Panjab University Rose Festival. Central Scientific Instruments Organisation (CSIO) won maximum number of first prizes, followed by SGGS College, Sector 26, and IMTECH. Other prominent winners were Chandigarh Housing Board and Chotte Lal Plantations. Rangoli and painting competitions were held on the second day of the festival, which saw huge participation. In rangoli competition, Himanshi, Muskan and Sunaina claimed title in the 5 years to 11 years group, while Kriti Pahuja, Srishti Sharma and Harsimran Singh claimed medals in the 12 to 18 years group. Shivani Singh won in the 19 years and above category.

In the painting competition, Gurnoor Kaur was winner in the 5 to 9 years and Annvi was the winner in age group 10 to 15 years. Riya won the 16 years and above category. On Sunday, competitions of Rose Prince and Rose Princess and fancy dress will be organised.

Shiv Kawad Sangh and Manav Kalyan Parisar, an NGO running charitable labs, will organise a blood donation camp. During the evening on third day, performance by Punjabi singer Raz Heer will be held at the Old Convocation Ground.
