Mandip Singh Brar, a 2005-batch IAS officer of the Haryana cadre, will be the new Home Secretary of Chandigarh. He had done his graduation from the Government College, Sector 11.

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved inter-cadre deputation of Brar from the Haryana cadre to the AGMUT cadre (Chandigarh segment) for three years or until further orders, whichever is earlier. Brar had earlier served as city DC from 2018 to 2021.

The Haryana Government had sent a panel of three IAS officers to the UT Administration for the post, including Amit Kumar Aggarwal (batch 2003), Mandeep Singh Brar (2005) and J Ganeshan (2006). — TNS
