Manipur duo wins U-18 tennis title
Chandigarh, June 16
Manipur’s Shankar Heisnam and Bhicky Sagolshem won the boys U-18 doubles title, on the penultimate day of the CLTA-AITA Super Series Tennis Tournament, today. The title winning pair defeated V Manikantan and A Nagpure in straight sets 6-1 6-2.
In the boys U-16 doubles final. The top seed pair of D Sachdeva and Swastik Sharma registered a comeback 2-6 6-4 10-7 win over K Chothani and J Kanani to claim the title.
In the boys’ U-18 singles semifinals, Gujarat’s Vatsal Manikantan overpowered Bhicky Sagolshem by logging a 6-3 1-6 6-3 victory. A Nagpure of Maharashtra also moved ahead by defeating Om Yadav of Uttar Pradesh 6-1 6-2.
