Manpreet Kaur Bhatia defeated Vineet Kumari 30-14 (in a single game format) to march ahead in the women’s open category, during the ongoing All India Civil Services Badminton Tournament.

Rusva Mistry defeated Khushbu Singh 30-15, while Swaroopa RR ousted Namita Pathania 30-21. In some other one-sided matches, Mayuri Yadav defeated Tabun Azavedo 30-8, Depthi T beat Shisham 30-2, Pinky Karki ousted Bhanu Priya Parashar 30-2 and Neha Verma defeated Lalitha 30-7.

Bhavya Rishi faced a tough resistance from Komal Antil, before logging a 30-24 win and Sharimol KR defeated Surbhi Jain 30-12. Akansha Kumari also marched into the next round by defeating Garima Yadav 30-22.

In the women’s (40 ) event, Neelam Panda defeated Nitu Vinayak 30-6 and Jyoti Wankhade overpowered a tough challenge by Vishali Narula 30-28. Sarita Kumar defeated Sunita Singh Panwar 30-25, Nisha Kumar ousted Vasumati 30-27, Vijay Rani defeated Pooja Pradeep 30-22 and Kavita Bhagat defeated Madhu Gyannchandani 30-28 in some neck-to-neck clashes. Sangeeta Raj Goplan won the 55 event by defeating L Aruna Devi 30-3 and Hemin Baghe defeated Radha Mc 30-7.

In the men’s open event, Harshal Soni defeated Shobhit Sharma 30-16. Anil Kumar blanked Prakash Singh Gurjar 30-11 and Irshad MD ousted Praveen AP 30-12. Tarun Rawat easily ousted Jayant 30-20, while Govind Kumar Yadav defeated Naresh 30-19. In the men’s 45 event, Vijay Sharma defeated Dr Santosh HR 30-28, while Gurjant Singh outplayed C Sachin 30-11.
