The city recorded the lowest maximum temperature of this season today as people shivered throughout the day.

The maximum temperature dropped to 11.5°C, nine degrees below normal. It was 14°C yesterday. It is expected to increase in the coming days. The minimum temperature, however, rose to 4.6°C today from 2.8°C yesterday. It is also likely to increase a bit in the next three days.

The Chandigarh Meteorological Department has predicted thundery development/light rain on January 2.

The sky is expected to be generally cloudy on December 31, while New Year (January 1) is likely to see a mainly clear sky. Moderate to dense fog is expected to continue during morning and evening hours.
