Five persons have been booked for allegedly attacking a Municipal Corporation (MC) employee, who was challaning vendors for encroachment.

According to the police, the complainant, SI Kulbhusan of the enforcement department of the civic body, alleged that Anuj Yadav, Shiv Nandan, Manoj Yadav, Ashok Kumar and Sunil Gupta had illegally put up their rehri/stalls in Sector 37. The suspects were issued challans following which they attacked MC Zone in-charge Avtar Singh. The suspects also unloaded the confiscated goods from the MC truck.

The police initiated an investigation after registering a case under Sections 323, 353, 186, 379 and 34 of the IPC at the Sector 39 police station.
