MC poll: Work to update voters’ list in Mohali from Nov 16

In view of the MC elections, work to update voters’ list in the district will start from November 16 and continue till December 15.

Mohali Assistant Commissioner Yashpal stated this after holding a meeting with election registration officers and booth-level officers (BLOs) to begin the work for updating the voters’ list in the district.

He said BLOs had been directed to ensure their presence in the booths on Saturdays and Sundays from November 16 to make students aware through camps on the college campus to enrol them in the voters’ lists.

“Members of Electoral Literacy Clubs should be asked to conduct campaigns to register maximum number of eligible voters,” he said.

Yashpal said officials should make all-out efforts to enrol Person with Disabilities in the voters’ list. Officials should also ensure that migrant labourers, who work in industries and brick-kilns, were enrolled in the voters’ list.

He also directed nodal sweep officers/kanungo to organise special camps to enrol PwDs and transgenders in their respective constituencies.
