A month after AAP councillor Jasbir Singh Laddi raised concerns about a former MC officer attaching a complaint against him with the agenda of a General House, MC Secretary Gurinder Singh Sodhi has sought details from the Chief Engineer regarding the matter. This comes after the UT’s Local Bodies Department took cognizance of Laddi’s allegations.

The department had written to the Municipal Commissioner on September 19, requesting comments on the issue for submission to the UT Administration. Acting on this, Sodhi has asked the officer concerned to provide the information.

The controversy arose during a recent House meeting, where Laddi accused the former officer of deliberately attaching the complaint, a move he claimed was meant to tarnish his reputation.

The complaint in question came from workers maintaining local parks, who accused a Resident’s Welfare Association under Laddi’s control of paying them lower wages than those disbursed by the MC.
