Plogging refers to the activity of picking up trash while jogging. The 10-day drive was launched by MC Commissioner Amit Kumar, along with Senior Deputy Mayor and area councillor Jasbir Singh Bunty in the presence of MC Joint Commissioner Himanshu Gupta.

Office-bearers of the local Residents’ Welfare Association (RWA) were also present on the occasion. Around 200 schoolchildren participated in the plogging drive, collecting litter from in and around the lake and adjoining stair areas.

Prior to the activity, participants took a Swachhta pledge, reinforcing their commitment to a cleaner, greener India. The event was meticulously planned as a zero-waste initiative, with all collected waste responsibly transported by the MC’s garbage picker vehicles.

MC Commissioner Amit Kumar praised the young participants, calling them ‘Swachh Yuva Doot’ (agents of change) and emphasising the power of collective small steps in bringing about a transformative change.

“Community-driven efforts like these are essential in shaping a sustainable and clean city,” he added, while urging all citizens to actively take part in cleanliness drives in their neighborhoods.
