Medical innovation in focus at PGI

The third National Conference on Hospital Administration, HART 2025, commenced today at Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER) with over 500 delegates from over 90 medical institutions across 20 states.

Organised by the Department of Hospital Administration, the three-day event aims to foster leadership, innovation and integration in healthcare systems.

The inaugural ceremony featured Padma Shri and Ramon Magsaysay awardee Dr Prakash Murlidhar Amte as Chief Guest, accompanied by Dr Mandakini Amte, who delivered the keynote address.

He highlighted the power of compassion and simplicity in transforming communities, saying, “Simplicity is strength.”

Amte recounted how their medical journey began under trees in remote forests without infrastructure, driven by empathy and service.

AK Gupta, President of AIIMS, Bathinda, who was the Guest of Honour at the event, reflected on his time at PGIMER and underlined the evolving role of hospital administrators. “Hospitals are built not just with bricks, but with vision and unity,” he said, furhter emphasising technology integration alongside patient-centric care.

Ashok Kumar, Additional Medical Superintendent, and Vipin Koushal, Organising Chairperson, urged delegates to embrace innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement, aligning with the conference’s theme: “Innovate. Integrate. Elevate.”

The day’s sessions included discussions on patient safety, healthcare design, and technology-driven hospital operations. Highlights included expert talks by professionals from AIIMS, Johnson & Johnson MedTech India, and ASHRAE Chandigarh.

The three-day medicalconference, which will continue until April 26, featuring scientific sessions, posters and dialogues focused on sustainable and equitable healthcare delivery.
