Prosecution witness Ajaypal Singh Middukhera, elder brother of the deceased, recorded his statement before a Mohali court in the 2021 Vicky Middukhera murder case today.

Accused Kaushal Chaudhary, Amit Dagar, Sajjan alias Bholu, Anil Lath, Ajay alias Sunny alias Lifty, and Bhupinder Singh alias Bhupi Rana appeared in the court through videoconferencing. The court fixed the next date of hearing tomorrow.

While Chaudhary, Amit Dagar, Sajjan, Anil Lath and Ajay were produced by the Gurugram jail authorities, Bhupi Rana was produced by the Kapurthala jail authorities through videoconferencing.

The trial in the murder case has reached the prosecution witnesses stage as the court framed charges against six accused recently.

The court framed charges against the accused under Sections 302, 482 and 120-B of the Indian Penal Code and the Arms Act. The accused pleaded not guilty and claimed a trial.

The police had identified a Jhajjar resident, Sajjan alias Bholu (37), a Delhi resident, Anil Kumar Latth (32), and a Kurukshetra resident, Sunny (20), all active members of the Bambiha group, who shot dead Youth Akali Dal (YAD) leader Vicky Middukhera in Sector 71 on August 7, 2021.
