The Punjab Government would not leave any stone unturned to eradicate the drug menace, said Sports, Youth Services and NRI Affairs Minister Rana Gurmit Singh Sodhi while inaugurating the two-day Punjab State Youth Festival at Chandigarh University here today.
He said the new sports policy and Maharaja Ranjit Singh Sports Awards for 103 persons, initiating the Mission Tandarust Punjab and mega job fairs were an example of the commitment of the government to provide the youth with adequate employment avenues.
The highlight of day was ‘Punjab Innovation and Startup Exhibition-2020’ wherein a large number of enthusiasts learnt about startups.
‘The Punjab Youth Icon Awards-2020’ were conferred on Actor Kartar Cheema, Salman Khan’s Bodyguard Shera (Mansa), Roshan Prince, Karamjit Anmol, Gurpreet Ghuggi, Sunil Grover, Harshdeep Kaur, Actress Mandy Takhar, Nimrat Khaira, Surveen Chawla, Bunty Bains, Kulwinder Billa, Shipra Goyal, Satinder Sartaaj, Jordan Sandhu, Actress Preet Kamal, Ihana Dhillon, Akanksha Popli, Ritinder Sodhi, and many more.
Technical Education and Industrial Training Minister Charanjit Singh Channi; Secretary, Tourism and Cultural Affairs, Hussan Lal; Director, Sports, Sanjay Popli; and Chandigarh University Chancellor Satnam Singh Sandhu were present.
