Punjab Health and Family Welfare Minister Balbir Singh Sidhu today laid the foundation stone of development works worth Rs3.55 crore in various sectors.

Sidhu said Rs2.04 crore would be spent on the construction of volleyball, lawn tennis and basketball courts in various parks across the city. Rs1.01 crore was for upgrading the markets of Phase 9 and Rs49.50 lakh would be spent on recarpeting roads in Sector 71, he said.

Addressing a gathering, Sidhu said the Punjab Government was committed to ensure welfare of the citizens and these development projects were meant to encourage youngsters to adopt a healthy lifestyle. “Under the leadership of Capt Amarinder Singh, no stone will be left unturned to improve the health of our citizens,” he said.
