Haryana’s Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Krishna Kumar Bedi today said, “We should take a pledge to follow our fundamental duties and the law of the country.” He was in Panchkula to attend the district-level celebrations of Constitution Day. He was joined by Kalka MLA Shakti Rani Sharma.

He said becoming a responsible citizen of the country would help fulfil the purpose of the Constitution. He said, “The purpose of celebrating Constitution Day is to inspire reverence for law among citizens.”

He said, “The fundamental rights become our shield and the fundamental duties remind us of our responsibilities.”

Kalka MLA Shakti Rani Sharma said women had contributed significantly in the draughting committee of the Constitution, as 15 women were a part of it. “Even today, the participation of women is increasing in democracy.” Bedi honoured students of government colleges of Kalka, Barwala, Raipur Rani, and Sector 1, along with the women’s college in Sector 14, for participating in various competitions held during the event.
