The Chandigarh Police conducted a bomb mock drill at Elante Mall ahead of Republic Day to check the preparedness and coordination amongst the counter teams of police and other emergency services.

During the exercise, Commandos of Operations Cell secured and evacuated the mall complex.

House Intervention Teams (HIT) of Operation Cell, Bomb Detection Squad and Dog Squad carried out a search operation and located the dummy bomb.

Quick Reaction Teams (QRTs) of Operation Cell, PCR Vehicles, traffic wing vehicles, ambulances fire tenders, team of civil defense, forensic team, team of local area Police Station promptly responded to the scene.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
