The National Security Guard (NSG) and Chandigarh Police concluded their annual Crisis Response Joint Exercise, GANDIV-VI, today.

In the final phase, a simulated hostage situation was staged at the Punjab Vidhan Sabha. The local police, along with the Operations Cell, cordoned off the area, secured all access points, and requested assistance from the NSG.

Multiple NSG ‘HIT teams’ entered the building from the ground, while another team descended from a helicopter using slithering technique.

At a debriefing session both units shared their insights and experiences.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
