The Mohali district administration is mulling over collaborating with organisations or stakeholders so that welfare schemes can reach the maximum number of beneficiaries.

DC Aashika Jain cited the Building and other Construction Workers’ scheme being run by the Punjab Building and Other Construction Workers Board. She said the scheme had several benefits for registered workers, but many eligible workers lacked awareness.

“Thus, we are exploring the potential of tie-ups with stakeholders who can make government schemes accessible for poor workers,” the DC said.
