The district administration today notified the minimum rates for registration of different types of land/properties, including agricultural, commercial, residential, industrial and institutional, falling in the Mohali district. Residents and property dealers said the government had notified a considerable increase in the collector rate of around 35% to 50% from last year.

At some places, there had been close to 100% increase from last year, they said. The decision is likely to impact buyers who will have to pay more for registration.

DC-cum-Collector Amit Talwar has fixed the collector rates for 2022-2023 of Mohali, Dera Bassi, Kharar and sub-tehsils of Zirakpur, Banur, Majri and Gharuan of Mohali district. The rates shall be effective from July 4.

Shailendra Anand, former chairman, Mohali Property Consultants Association, said: “A 35 to 50% increase will break the back of common man who wishes to buy a 100 yard residential plot in Mohali. They will have to shell out Rs 1.5 to Rs 2 lakh extra for the registration.”
