Sandhu had applied for bail on January 10 contending that the FIR No 33 registered against him by the State Crime Branch in 2024 was erroneous.

On a complaint of a Mohali resident, Baljinder Singh, a real estate dealer, a case was registered by the State Crime Branch on October 15, 2024, for allegedly misusing his official position to gain monetary benefits in connection with disputed properties.
