The property tax branch of the Municipal Corporation will remain open from 9 am to 2 pm on Saturdays and Sundays this month.

MC Commissioner Parminder Pal Singh said the decision was taken so that people can deposit property tax before March 31, the last date for the payment of the levy for the financial year 2024-2025.

Notices are being sent to property tax defaulters and some properties were sealed by the civic body last week. Dues will be recovered from property owners, if they did not deposit tax at all or paid less due to incorrect assessment, with interest and penalty

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
