A 44-year-old man, a resident of Phase 11, committed suicide at his home. The deceased, identified as Harpreet Singh, was an electrician. He was found hanging from a ceiling fan in his room. The police said Harpreet had a dispute with his wife. They struck a compromise at the police station a few hours earlier. —

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
