Mohali reports 62 COVID-19 cases; district crosses 1000-mark

Mohali, August 5
Mohali reported 62 fresh COVID-19 cases on Wednesday, taking the district total to 1,051.
The death toll stands at 17.
This is the highest ever spike Mohali has witnessed.
However, 10 infections have recovered from deadly disease and discharged from the hospital.
Most of the cases were recorded from Kharar, Derabassi, Zirakpur, Nyaagoan and Mohali city.
Civil Surgeon, Dr Manjit Singh, said that all the patients have been admitted to the COVID care centre in Gian Sagar Hospital in Banur. He added that all the patients were responding well to the treatment.
Out of 1,051 infections, 589 positive patients have been cured and discharged.
At present, the district reports 445 active cases.
