Mohali rural poll: Publication of electoral rolls tomorrow, final on September 3

Mohali Deputy Commissioner Komal Mittal said the electoral rolls, previously published on March 3, 2025, would now be updated with a qualifying date of September 1, 2025, to ensure all eligible voters were included in the list.
As per Section 28 of the Punjab State Election Commission Act, 1994, eligible voters must be at least 18 years of age on the qualifying date and ordinarily resident in a constituency. She said the draft publication date of display of existing electoral rolls was August 19. The draft rolls would be available at panchayat samti, zila parishad and SDM offices. Residents can file claims and objections from August 20, to August 27, and the same would be disposed of by September 1. The date for the final publication of electoral rolls was September 3.
The Deputy Commissioner directed all electoral registration officers-cum-Sub Divisional Magistrates to strictly adhere to the schedule so that all eligible voters in zila parishads and panchayat samitis constituencies could exercise their right to franchise.
Rural Development & Panchayats Dept invites objections, suggestions
For the conduct of general elections of panchayat samitis (PSs) and zila parishads (ZPs), the proposed poll zones in the district will be displayed from Monday onwards. This was stated by Additional Deputy Commissioner (Rural Development) Sonam Chaudhary here today.
Any person having an objection to these proposed zones or wishing to submit suggestions may do so within 21 days from the date of publication of the proposed zones — by August 30, 2025, up to 3 pm — either by email at — ddpelection@yahoo.in — or by submitting them in writing to Vinod Kumar Gangat, Deputy Director, Panchayats, Ground Floor, Headquarters, Vikas Bhawan, Sector 62, Mohali (Patiala Division). — TNS
