The 16th edition of LEIDEN Sarin International Air Law Moot Court Competition opened at Army Institute of Law today.

Former chief justice of Allahabad High Court, Justice SS Sodhi presided over the function, who is also the president of the Sarin Memorial Legal Aid Foundation, which has been regularly organising the moot court competition to train the budding lawyers in effectively handling litigation.

Senior advocate and former advocate general of Punjab, and secretary general of the Foundation, ML Sarin, informed that 16 teams from the top national law universities participated for the Indian national round, and the winning teams will get to participate in the International Moot Court Competition on 27-29 April at Athens, Greece.

The Sarin Foundation announced its Best Mooter of the Year Award, and Justice Sodhi, ML Sarin, Trustee Nitin Sarin, and principal of AIL Dr Tejinder Kaur, conferred on the fourth year student of AIL, Dhruv Kandhuri (20), from Dehradun, which comprise a scholarship of Rs.50,000, and a trophy.

National Law University, Jodhpur; National Law University, Delhi; and West Bengal National University of Juridical Sciences won the national round and have qualified to participate in the finals of the international moot court university in Athens, Greece, this year in April.
