A woman has been arrested for killing her two minor daughters, who were found dead under mysterious circumstances at their house on July 31.

The accused, Jyoti was produced before a court today which sent her to two-day police remand. The deceased were identified as Yogita (11) and Amayra (7), residents of Valmiki Colony in the Nahan house area of Ambala City. Their father, Sonu, works in a factory and mother, Jyoti, is a domestic help. Ambala ASP Srishti Gupta said, “Two minor girls were found dead in their house on July 31. During the investigation, the role of their mother came to light and she was arrested. The matter is still under investigation and during the two-day remand of Jyoti, we will get further information about the motive behind both murders.”

Ambala SP Surinder Singh Bhoria said, “The woman has some dispute with her husband and due to the ongoing family issues, she killed her daughters. She has confessed to her crime. The crime scene will be reconstructed and the scarf used by the accused to kill the girls will be recovered during her remand.” The family had raised suspicion on a person with whom Sonu has a monetary dispute. However, the police were suspecting the role of family members in both murders.
