Dera Bassi, June 6

Salman (28), who is accused of stabbing his younger brother Rizwan, was sent to two-day police remand.

The police yesterday arrested the suspect for stabbing Rizwan (20) to death at his house in Behera village.

The duo, natives of Hapur in Uttar Pradesh, was employed at a meat plant in Behera village and used to live in quarters nearby. They frequently used to have arguments over sending money back home.

On Friday, the brothers, who were in an inebriated state, again had an argument, following which Salman stabbed Rizwan to death.

Salman, with the help of an acquaintance, took Rizwan to a private hospital in an auto-rickshaw last night.

The police had detained the suspect from an eatery on Friday night. The knife used in the crime has also been recovered.
