Flautist Ustad Mujtaba Hussain enthralled the music lovers of the city during the 268th ‘Baithak’ concert organised by the Pracheen Kala Kendra at Koser Indoor Auditorium here today.

A teacher and composer, Hussain belongs to the ‘Gaya Gharana’. He commenced his recital with ‘alaap’ of ‘raga Puriya Kalyan’ followed by ‘jod aalap’.

He also played a composition ‘Holi’ in ‘raga Kaafi’ before concluding with a melodic ‘dadra’ in ‘raga Mishra Pilu’. He was accompanied by tabla exponent Ustad Rafiuddin Sabri. Justice Jatindra Chouhan, Dr. Sudhir Batish PCS, Sh. RK Verma Commandant ITBP

Chandigarh, Dr. Manoj Teotia and Jasvinder Singh graced and sat through the programme. — OC
