Nagar Kirtan accorded warm welcome at Mandi Gobindgarh

Cabinet Minister Tarunpreet Singh Sond, Deputy Commissioner Dr Sona Thind and a large number of devotees were present on the occasion. The district police presented a guard of honour for the Nagar Kirtan.
Speaking on the occasion, Saud said, “Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji sacrificed his life for the protection of human rights and religious freedom. Such an example is not found anywhere else in the world. The Punjab Government has planned a wide-ranging programme to pay homage to the martyrdom of guru sahib. Various religious programmes will be held at Sri Anandpur Sahib from November 23 to 25. The aim of these programmes is to convey the eternal message of guru sahib’s teachings, life, martyrdom and the good of humanity to every person living in every corner of the world.”
On the occasion the district administration made elaborate arrangements for the convenience of the devotees. The roads were renovated and all defunct street lights were repaired. The streets and drains were cleaned and a complete facelift was given to the city.
After night stay at Gurdwara Fatehgarh Sahib, the Nagar Kirtan proceeded towards Sri Anandpur Sahib early in the morning.
Sant Baba Lakha Singh, Amloh MLA Gurinder Singh Gary Baring, Fatehgarh Sahib MLA Lakhbir Singh Rai, ADC Arvind Gupta, SDM Chetan Bangar and Chief Minister’s Field Officer Shankar Sharma participated in the Nagar Kirtan.
